Terms of Service

Effective date: July 21, 2026

Article 1. Purpose

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SEFCON Korean Stock API ("API Service") provided by SEFCON Intelligence ("Company"). By obtaining an API key or using the API Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Article 2. Definitions

  1. "API Service" means the Korean stock financial data API, related documentation, and ancillary services provided by the Company.
  2. "User" means any individual or legal entity that has agreed to these Terms and obtained an API key.
  3. "API Key" means the unique credential issued to a User for the purpose of authenticating access to the API Service.
  4. "Data" means all information provided through the API Service, including financial statements, scores, indices, and sector information.

Article 3. Effectiveness and Amendment

  1. These Terms take effect upon issuance of an API key.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms at any time and will provide at least 7 days' notice via email or service announcement prior to changes taking effect.
  3. Continued use of the API Service after the effective date of amended Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.

Article 4. API Key Management

  1. API keys are issued for the sole use of the registered User and may not be transferred, shared, or sold to any third party.
  2. The User is solely responsible for any unauthorized use arising from disclosure of their API key.
  3. The Company reserves the right to deactivate an API key without prior notice in the event of a Terms violation.

Article 5. Plans and Pricing

  1. The API Service is offered under Free, Pro, Enterprise, and Custom plans.
  2. Plan features and pricing are as published on api.sefcon.kr and are subject to change with prior notice.
  3. Billing is processed through RapidAPI. Refund policies are governed by RapidAPI's terms.
  4. Annual subscriptions receive a 20% discount compared to monthly billing.

Article 6. Prohibited Uses

Users may not:

  1. Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Data to any third party without express written consent from the Company.
  2. Share API keys or use a single key across multiple services or organizations.
  3. Exceed the request limits of the subscribed plan or otherwise place excessive load on the Company's infrastructure.
  4. Use the Data to operate an investment advisory or financial consulting service without a separate written agreement.
  5. Attempt to collect Data through means other than the API (e.g., scraping, crawling).
  6. Attempt to reverse-engineer the Company's algorithms, scoring models, or crisis indices.

Article 7. Data Sources and Accuracy

  1. Data is sourced from public regulatory filings and databases including DART (FSS), KOSIS (Statistics Korea), ECOS (Bank of Korea), KRX, and Korea Customs.
  2. The Company targets 95%+ data accuracy and employs automated validation processes. However, the Company does not guarantee complete accuracy or completeness of the Data.
  3. Users who identify data errors are encouraged to report them to founder@sefcon.kr.

Article 8. No Investment Advice

All Data, scores, and indices provided through the API Service are for informational purposes only and do not constitute investment advice, investment recommendations, or solicitation to buy or sell any financial instrument.

Investment decisions and their outcomes are the sole responsibility of the User. The Company shall not be liable for any investment losses arising from use of the API Service.

Article 9. Intellectual Property

  1. All intellectual property rights in the API Service, including algorithms, scoring methodologies (SCI Score), the SEFCON Crisis Index, and data processing methods, are owned by the Company.
  2. Users may incorporate Data retrieved via the API into their own products and services, but may not replicate the underlying algorithms or use the Data to build a competing data infrastructure service.

Article 10. Service Interruption and Changes

  1. The Company may temporarily suspend the API Service for maintenance, security, or other operational reasons.
  2. The Company may modify or discontinue the API Service, with at least 30 days' email notice prior to discontinuation.
  3. The Company shall not be liable for damages arising from service interruptions.

Article 11. Disclaimer of Warranties

  1. The Company shall not be liable for service disruptions caused by force majeure events including natural disasters, cyberattacks, or third-party infrastructure failures.
  2. The Company's liability for inaccuracies attributable to errors in source data (e.g., DART filings) is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  3. Except in cases of the Company's gross negligence or willful misconduct, the Company's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the User in the three months preceding the claim.

Article 12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance.
